Specimen Requirements

Submit the following specimen:

Specimen Type: Urine, 24-hour

Container/Tube: Plastic urine container

Specimen Volume: Entire collection

Collection Instructions: No preservative. Refrigerate specimen during collection.

Additional Information:

1. Starting and ending times of collection are required.

2. Follow instructions in Urine Collection in Special Instructions.

Additional Information: Patient’s age is required.

PLEASE NOTE:

If a 24 urine is outside the 24 hour window (24 hour urine must be between 18-30 hours collected), or a random urine is ordered, Please order Urine Immunofixation instead.
