Multiplex Flourescent Immunoassay

Note: The primary purpose of this test is to determine past infection with HSV-2. For acute infection, when lesions are present, PCR is the preferred technique.

Results Interpretation
Nonreactive Nonreactive: No detectable IgG antibody to HSV-2.
Equivocal Equivocal: Presence or absence of detectable antibodies to HSV-2 cannot be determined and the test should be repeated.
Reactive

Reactive: Indicates presence of detectable IgG antibody to HSV-2.
