Mint green-top lithium heparin (MNTGRN LiHep) Vacutainer®

 

Acceptable:

Plain, red-top Vacutainer® or Lavender-top (EDTA) Vacutainer ®

2.0 mL (minimum 1.0 mL)

 

Patient Preparation:

None

 

Sample Rejection

Mislabeled or unlabeled specimens.

 

Special Instructions:

Trough Specimen: Collect immediately before next scheduled dose or no earlier than 1 hour prior to dose. (Trough level for first dose should be collected just prior to next dose).

Peak Specimen: Collect 30-60 minutes after dose. 

Send to lab promptly.

Centrifuge specimen to separate. If specimen is collected in a plain, red-top or Lavender-top (EDTA) tube, aliquot sample into a Roche false-bottom tube for testing (labeling with specimen type).
