Specimen Requirements

Specimen Type: Bronchial washings, esophageal washings, gastric washings, etc.

Container/Tube: Screw top container
Specimen Volume: Adequate sampling

Collection Instructions:
1. Add washings to container.
2. Agitate container.

3. Label container with patient’s name (first and last), date of birth, date and actual time of collection, and type of specimen.
4. Refrigerate specimen.
