Note: Do not confuse this test with #LA “Lactic Acid, Plasma or Spinal Fluid.”

Specimen Requirements

Specimen Type: Plasma

Container/Tube: Light-green top (lithium heparin)

Specimen Volume: 2 mL

Collection Instructions:

1. Spin down unopened (vacuum intact) tube within 45 minutes of draw.

2. Avoid hemolysis.

3. Label specimen as plasma.

Reference Values

0-1 year: 140-325 U/L

2-4 years: 140-320 U/L

5-11 years: 130-260 U/L

12-15 years: 130-250 U/L

≥16 years: 100-220 U/L
