Preferred: Gold/Red SST Vacutainer®

Acceptable: Plain, Red-top Vacutainer®, Lavender-top (EDTA) Vacutainer®, or Light green-top (LiHep) Vacutainer®

Collection Volume: 3.0 mL (minimum1.5 mL)

Patient Preparation: None

Sample Rejection: Mislabeled or unlabeled specimens.

Special Instructions: If outside of SLCH in-patient units, please complete an Allergen Request Form and forward it with the specimen.

Lab Processing instructions: Centrifuge specimen to separate. Aliquot sample into a conical tube and note specimen type on label if other than serum.
