Lab Processing instructions: Mix specimen well and aliquot sample into a conical plastic vial. Place original collection container (with any remaining sample) in freezer #1.Give aliquot to Chem COBAS bench and let them know they have Met Genetics specimen that needs to be frozen post analysis.
If specimen submitted is from 24-hour collection, note 24-hr volume on aliquot label.
Processed Volume: 5.0 mL (minimum 1.0 mL) urine
NO SPECIMEN SHOULD BE REJECTED FOR VOLUME! GIVE ALL SPECIMENS TO METABOLIC GENETICS TO DECIDE IF QNS.
Analyte Stability: Creatinine performed on receipt, Entire collection then frozen.
NOTES: Give specimen to chemistry bench to run Creat prior to freezing.
If specimen needs to be shared with UA bench make sure they are aware that specimen is shared and original container needs to be placed in MetGen basket in freezer.
